Addiction Levels of Care

Columbus, Georgia’s second-largest city, offers hope in the form of evidence-based recovery services for people dealing with mental health issues and substance abuse problems. The city of Columbus sits on the Alabama border. It offers both city amenities and Southern community backing for people and their families who need drug rehabilitation and mental health services. The city’s military history through Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning) fosters a strong network of veteran resources. Whether you’re looking for immediate crisis intervention or long-term recovery support, Columbus provides personalized care that meets you exactly where you are in your journey.

Addiction Levels of Care We Treat

Detox Placement

When medical detoxification is the appropriate level of care to start with, Marietta Springs works with approved partner treatment providers for safe withdrawal symptom management. Our admissions team will guide you to a detox facility that suits your medical and clinical needs, although we do not provide detox services ourselves. We understand how difficult this process can be. Our team guides you through the entire process from choosing a facility to moving into our treatment programs following detoxification.

Our organization works with top-rated detox facilities that provide medical detox services to patients before they start their treatment program at our center. We maintain contact with detox centers to monitor your recovery process and establish entry procedures for Marietta Springs. The PHP and IOP programs at our facility accept patients who have finished detox treatment and achieved medical stability for further addiction treatment. The coordinated approach maintains continuous care while establishing a solid foundation for your recovery, beginning with the first phone call and continuing throughout your recovery journey.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

The Partial Hospitalization Program at Marietta Springs functions as the most intensive outpatient service, providing full treatment to patients who need extensive care but do not require constant supervision. The PHP provides 30 hours of weekly clinical programming that serves both substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions from 9:00 AM to 2:45 PM on Monday through Saturday. The structured environment at this facility enables you to concentrate on recovery while spending nights at home. You’ll work through individual therapy, group counseling, psychoeducation, and specialized therapeutic approaches that treat addiction and co-occurring mental health issues.

The level of care is suitable for people who are starting their recovery process, moving from inpatient or detox facilities, or require more support than standard outpatient services offer. PHP provides an opportunity for extensive therapeutic intervention, which leads to stabilization of patients while preserving their social bonds with family and community. Our team of specialists creates personalized treatment plans that guide your healing and ensure the best possible interventions during your recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Intensive Outpatient Program at our facility provides 9-15 hours of weekly clinical programming, which serves as a middle ground between intensive treatment and independent recovery while enabling you to keep working, attending school, or taking care of your family. Our IOP provides flexible scheduling, with two options operating from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the morning and 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the evening to support different patient needs while maintaining high-quality treatment. The program treats substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions together by using group therapy, individual counseling, family sessions, and psychoeducation about addiction and recovery.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides an ideal transition from PHP treatment for patients who need less intensive care or serves as the first level of care for people whose evaluation shows they require this specific level of treatment. The program design provides enough intensity to create noticeable changes while allowing you to practice your new skills in your everyday tasks. IOP helps clients develop self-confidence and coping skills through its practical applications and ongoing clinical assistance. Our experienced team monitors your progress closely, ensuring you receive the right level of support as you work toward lasting recovery, with the option to adjust intensity based on your evolving needs.

Outpatient Program

Our outpatient treatment serves two main purposes by helping people who have made progress in their recovery and those whose substance use problems require treatment at a lower level of care. The flexible program provides 1-3 hours of weekly treatment, which enables you to keep your daily responsibilities while getting professional help for substance use disorders. The treatment program consists of personal therapy sessions, group therapy, and psychoeducation sessions, which help you maintain recovery during your experience with real-life difficulties.

The level of care provides the best results for individuals who have completed IOP treatment and maintain strong support systems while seeking to avoid relapse. The Outpatient Program provides flexible treatment options that work well for working professionals, students, and parents who need to maintain their responsibilities while seeking help.

Our experienced clinicians will meet with you each week to help you maintain your progress while creating sustainable solutions for your future. Your recovery path remains our main focus, as we continue to provide ongoing support through treatment methods that adapt to your evolving needs.

Virtual Addiction Care

Our virtual programs deliver evidence-based interventions and professional support through HIPAA-compliant secure platforms, which protect your privacy and confidentiality at the same level as our in-person services. Our virtual programs provide quality addiction treatment access to people who need it because they live in remote areas, have mobility issues, work requirements that involve travel, or want home-based treatment for privacy and comfort.

Our virtual services provide PHP, IOP, and OP programs that deliver the same clinical excellence and therapeutic methods which we use in our traditional in-person programs. Virtual care allows family members to join sessions and educational programs, as technology enables easy participation, supporting your ongoing recovery.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Substance Abuse Levels of Care

How do I know which level of care is right for me?

Multiple factors determine the right level of care, including the extent of your substance use, your support network, and your current responsibilities. Our admissions team performs a complete evaluation to determine the best entry point for each client. The treatment process for most clients starts with PHP before they move to IOP and then OP as their condition improves. Our team will assist you in finding the ideal balance between organization and adaptability that matches your personal needs.

Absolutely. Your need for assistance will change throughout your recovery process. Our continuum of care provides continuous support through smooth transitions between different levels of care based on your progress or changing needs. Many clients successfully step down from PHP to IOP to OP over the course of their treatment, which can extend up to 180 days total. Your treatment team tracks your development to figure out when your treatment requirements need to be modified.

The duration of treatment varies according to the individual needs of each patient. Research shows that clients who stay in therapy longer achieve better results, but some clients start showing improvement right away during their initial weeks of treatment.[1] Our clients reach their most important moments of progress during the 60-90 day period. Our programs span 180 days across all care levels, which allows sufficient time for patients to achieve lasting recovery and change.

Most insurance plans provide coverage for various levels of addiction treatment, though benefits vary by plan and level of care. The admissions team will check your insurance coverage to show which services each level of care provides and to explain the payment needs for starting treatment.
